Letting Go with Technology

Ain’t technology grand! It’s supposed to be simplifying our lives. Wouldn’t you like to know when that’s gonna start?

Blogging’s supposed to be a snap. Everybody’s doing it. Oye vey! If it’s not one thing, it’s another. Like the error messages you have to track down the causes of and solutions for. You get one solved and another one pops up someplace else. And, do they write the error messages in plain English? Noooooooo. It’s archaic as heck.

Really though, I wasn’t born yesterday and know probably enough to be dangerous with a computer. And therein lies the rue. Most, if not all computer problems are due to human error. And it’s most likely the operator. Which, in this case, would be me.

So, as I’m the type of person who likes to see the philosophical side of life, I have to ask myself what can I learn from this situation? Aside from just how blue I can turn the air around my computer, a lot of things.

One is not to push myself so hard. Really. When something less than perfection happens, I can be like a pitt bull terrier. I’ll grab on to it and won’t let go for love nor money. Which means I will work on it until I literally can’t see anymore and my neck has a crick so bad that it should be outlawed! Experience is teaching me to do otherwise and just let go.

I am learning to work with my creativity’s ability to problem solve. Instead of pounding my head against the wall until I’m practically bleeding, I give myself permission to get up and get away.  Go for a walk, run errands, clean the house, whatever but usually something physical. Just getting that oxygen in and the blood pumping works wonders. It gets my mind off that topic. When I’m focused on something else, that is usually the time when the answer for the problem, er ah challenge, appears. At the very least getting away from the task refreshes me for the next round.

Now, if I could remember to do that all the time, my life would be perfect! Aacckk! There I go again.

To be continued…. ‘Cause, trust me, I’ve got many more lessons to share!
