How many ideas popped into your head when thinking about that question? I hope as many as possible but if not, you might consider the idea of actively cultivating a list. In the 12-step arena, they call it a gratitude list.
Why would someone want to do this on purpose you ask? Well, in my experience when I’ve been down and out it has filled the void. I can look at it and remember that it ain’t all bad. And, because making this list just feels so darn good, it encourages us to keep an eye out for more ideas to add to it.
I’m thankful to report that I have a growing list and these days it even contains visual representations. Lately, I have developed this habit of toting a camera with me where ever I go. ![]()
So many times I have seen something really cool and wished I could take a picture. So I got the camera. Now it has developed into the habit of constantly being on the lookout for beauty in all it’s representations. So from time to time, I’ll share them with you as a “Beauty Break.” Enjoy!
