How to Shake it like a Polaroid Picture!

Some days it’s hard to give up my alleged control over the universe. Today would be one of them. So I say, when in doubt, play! At least I can be a success at that today.

I was perusing a website this morning called American Pai and reading a review about Windows Live Writer.  It would appear that they have many new plugins, one of which is called Polaroid Picture. (How many links can one have in one paragraph before it’s considered overkill?)

As I was feeling like shaking it anyway today, I decided to play with this plugin and see what I could do.

So, here’s my first picture. Isn’t it amazing what one can capture with a digital camera and no clue!

Hmmm, the plugin fits seamlessly into the program and it offers you a choice of four different sizes for your picture. To give you an idea of what they look like, this is the small size. I could have downsized one more to miniscule but it really did live up to it’s name.  I was ecstatic that I didn’t have to resize it beforehand because I find that task so tedious. And I forget half the time anyway which is how I discovered this feature to begin with.

You also get the choice to caption the photo or not, and in what font, type, size and color. Works for me!

And then of course, you get the endearing tilt option. I played with this until I got a bit dizzy and had to stop! I’m feeling better now and am very happy with the results.

You also get a choice of how your text flows around the picture. The downside is that you can’t customize it to flow through the invisible square around the picture. How disappointing. But, check out the corners! This more than makes up for it. You can color coordinate to a certain extent and have plain, red or black. What fun!

Overall I quite liked playing with the Polaroid Picture plugin and it was quick to pick up for a not-even-close-to-being techie like me.

Well, that’s it for my playtime today but I was thinking maybe I would do reviews sometime. Oops. I think I just did!

Hey, this is a great review! I have not tried the writer in such a long time as the last time I worked with it, it did not load photos into Blogger.

What a fabulous tip! I had never heard of this plug-in and now I’m going to give it a try because I believe photos are very important. I had been struggling with it lately, even with the latest WP version I now have (2.5.1).

I had been having weird formatting problems with inserting photos and it’s been frustrating, especially since (like you) I’m not a techie and I have wanted to add captions to my photos. Thank you so much for writing about this…perfect timing. :)

I hear they recently took Polaroid cameras off the market, so these pictures are about to become a rarity. Nice plug-in for a vintage feel.
